JOB TITLE:

Administrative Assistant to the Police Administration

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties include standard Administrative Assistant responsibilities not limited to. preparing department weekly payroll, billing & invoicing, basic accounting of cash receipts, record keeping, filing of paperwork, inventorying, and ordering of supplies as needed, word processing. typing, and preparing administrative documents, processing various permits, assist in annual budget preparation and any other duties assigned by the Police Administration. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, Information technology and computer experience a must, familiarity with accounting software programs, Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word programs required. Strong customer service skills are essential. Job shadows the Record Specialist and perform some of those duties in his/her absence. Non-Union, Part-time, at will employee

SCHEDULE:

25-28 hours a week with some flexibility

SALARY:

As determined by the Chief of Police based on experience and longevity, annual wage increases set by Chief of Police during the annual budget process.

BENEFITS:

Limited, includes Paid Time Off. For the purposes of Paid Time Off, the Fiscal Year runs from July 1st through June 30th.

PHYSICAL DEMAND:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit at a desk for prolonged periods and work on a computer. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative ofthose an employee encounters while performing the essential duties and functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee will frequently operate typical business office equipment, including computer hardware.


The employee must be able to work harmoniously, cooperatively, and courteously with others at all times. The employee must have the ability to communicate effectively in oral expression as well as
hear. The ability to write concisely, ot express thoughts clearly, and to develop ideas ni logical order.
Supervision Received: The Administrative Assistance works directly for the Chief of Police and Police Captain.
