Welcome.
The Putnam Special Services District is the geographical area formerly known as the “City of Putnam”, consisting of Putnam’s downtown business district and neighborhoods in the northwest corner of the town. The Putnam Special Services District is governed by the Putnam Special Services District Authority, a five member elected board. This elected board has oversight of the Putnam Police Department and Putnam Fire Department.
All inhabitants dwelling within the territorial limits of the Putnam Special Services District, hereinafter called “the District” may hold and exercise all powers and privileges consistent with the provisions of the Putnam Special Services District Authority Charter.

The Putnam SSD Monthly Public Meeting is held on the second Monday of each month and is a public meeting that covers matters related to the Putnam Police Department, Putnam Fire Department and any/all other special service district concerns.

Immediately following District Authority Regular Meeting at 6PM.
The citizens and eligible voters of the Putnam Special Services District are hereby notified and warned that a Special District Meeting of said District will be held a the Putnam Fire Department Meeting Room, 189 Church Street on the 13th of October 2026 immediately following the Putnam Special Services District Authority monthly meeting for the following purpose:
1.To choose a moderator.
2.To determine the wishes of those present and eligible to vote at the district meeting on the following resolution:
RESOLVED, that the Putnam Special Services District hereby authorizes the transfer of up to $75,000 from the Fire Department Building Reserve Fund Account for capital expenses related to the roof replacement project to be completed at 189 Church Street, Putnam Fire and Police Station.
