The Putnam Police Department offers a House Check Service for residents of the Putnam Special Services District.  This service can be utilized when going on vacation, or when your house will be unoccupied for an extended period of time. 

An officer will conduct random checks of your home between the specified dates - with a request being valid for up to 60-days. Any requests that exceed 60-days due to special circumstances must be approved by the Chief of Police or his designee. It is understood that the property will NOT be under 24-hour surveillance and the Putnam Police Department will not be held liable for any damage or theft done to the property.  Further, due to the nature of police work, checks may not be done every day.
