REPORTS OF DEPARTMENTS: NO DISCUSSION ON PREVIOUS MONTH’S REPORTS.

POLICE DEPT.:  INCOME OF $3,553.86 TAKEN IN BY DEPARTMENT THAT INCLUDES $2,585.00 FOR OUTSIDE POLICE SERVICES.

IN SEPTEMBER, THE DISPATCH CENTER RECEIVED 1,078 CALLS FOR SERVICE.  POLICE OFFICERS INITIATED 40 CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS THAT RESULTED IN 3 ON-SITE CUSTODY ARRESTS.  CONTINUED INVESTIGATIONS WAS REQUIRED ON 37 OF THE REPORTED CRIMES.  A TOTAL OF 21 CRIMINAL ARRESTS WERE MADE IN SEPTEMBER.  POLICE OFFICERS CONDUCTED 124 MOTOR VEHICLE STOPS.  50 VERBAL WARNINGS, 43 WRITTEN WARNINGS, AND 31 CITATIONS WERE ISSUED.  A TOTAL OF 15 MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS WERE INVESTIGATED.

MOTION-A/M TAYLOR, SECOND-A/VC LAJOIE TO APPROVE CLOSING MAIN ST. FROM LEE ST. TO BUNDY ST. TO VEHICLE TRAFFIC ON 10/25/13, FROM 5:00 PM TO 7:00PM, FOR HALLOWEEN ZOMBIE WALK   UV

FIRE DEPT.:  19 CALLS ANSWERED IN SEPTEMBER FOR A TOTAL OF 214.6 MAN HOURS.  7 FIREFIGHTERS ATTENDED TRAINING SESSION ON 09/14/13.  ON 09/19/13, FIREFIGHTERS (138 MAN HOURS) PARTICIPATED IN A SOFTBALL GAME BETWEEN THE EAST PUTNAM AND PUTNAM FIRE DEPARTMENTS FOR THE DONALD WARREN & WAYNE RICH ALS BENEFIT.

AARON SWEATMAN IS A DRIVER EFFECTIVE 09/01/13.  KENNARD HUESTON IS NO LONGER A MEMBER OF THE FIRE DEPT.  HE HAS MOVED TO DUDLEY, MA EFFECTIVE 08/01/13.

BRIAN BARDIER & ANDREW BARDIER ARE NO LONGER MEMBERS IN THE FIRE DEPT.  THEY HAVE MOVED TO ATTAWAUGAN EFFECTIVE 10/01/13.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:  FY12/13 TRANSFER TO FIRE TRUCK RESERVE FUND

TABLE   STILL WAITING FOR WRITTEN LEGAL OPINION FROM ATTY. ST ONGE   

    NEW BUSINESS:  POLICE UNION’S APPEAL OF GRIEVANCE DENIAL

    POLICE UNION PRESIDENT, ANDREW REED REQUESTED THAT THIS ISSUE BE TABLED TO

    NEXT MONTH’S MEETING.  MOTION-A/M ZAMAGNI, SECOND-A/M G J COTNOIR TO

    APPROVE POLICE UNION’S REQUEST TO TABLE ISSUE TO DISTRICT AUTHORITY’S

    MEETING SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, 11/12/13   UV
