MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:00 PM. BY CHAIRMAN GERARD E COTNOIR.

PETITIONS & COMMUNICATIONS: REVENUE COLLECTOR’S REQUEST FOR TAX REFUNDS  

TO:  RAMIS UNSUR, HAMPTON, CT--$30.33 ON G/L10-11MV, VEHICLE SOLD IN APRIL

         TOYOTA MOTOR CREDIT CORP, ATLANTA, GA--$124.90 ON G/L10-11MV, VEH. SOLD 02/12

         TOYOTA MOTOR CREDIT CORP, TORRANCE, CA--$299.06 ON G/L10-11PP, SUPERWINCH   

         NOW LOCATED IN KILLINGLY

MOTION-A/M ZAMAGNI, SECOND-A/VC LAJOIE TO APPROVE TAX REFUNDS   UV

REPORTS OF DEPARTMENTS: NO DISCUSSION ON PREVIOUS MONTH’S REPORTS.

POLICE DEPT.:  INCOME OF $5,846.50 TAKEN IN BY DEPARTMENT THAT INCLUDES $5,289.00 FOR OUTSIDE POLICE SERVICES.

IN MAY, THE DISPATCH CENTER RECEIVED 1,051 CALLS FOR SERVICE.  POLICE OFFICERS INITIATED 46 CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS THAT RESULTED IN 13 ON-SITE CUSTODY ARRESTS.  CONTINUED INVESTIGATIONS WAS REQUIRED ON 34 OF THE REPORTED CRIMES.  A TOTAL OF 72CRIMINAL ARRESTS WERE MADE IN MAY.  POLICE OFFICERS CONDUCTED 220 MOTOR VEHICLE STOPS.  88 VERBAL WARNINGS, 109 WRITTEN WARNINGS, AND 23 CITATIONS WERE ISSUED.  A TOTAL OF 17 MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS WERE INVESTIGATED.

 

     FIRE DEPT.:  (REPORT GIVEN BY ASS’T FIRE CHIEF NORMAND PERRON)   17 CALLS WERE

     ANSWERED IN MAY FOR A TOTAL OF 344.1 MAN HOURS.

     19 FIREFIGHTERS, ALONG WITH A WOODSTOCK/TOLLAND TEAM, TOOK PART IN A RIVER

     RESCUE SIMULATION ABOVE THE DAM AT CORNER OF KENNEDY DR. & POMFRET ST.

     19 FIREFIGHTERS, ALONG WITH MEMBERS OF EAST PUTNAM FIRE DEPT, TOOK PART IN

     TRAINING HELD AT A VACANT HOME LOCATED BEHIND ABCO WELDNG.

     30 FIREFIGHTERS TOOK PART IN THE MEMORIAL DAY PARADE HELD ON 05/27/13.

     LT. CHRIS COLLINS HAS BEEN PROMOTED TO CAPTAIN OF HOSE CO #2 EFF. 06/01/13.

    

     UNFINISHED BUSINESS:  NONE

 

     NEW BUSINESS:  PARKING ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS

     MOTION-A/VC LAJOIE, SECOND-A/M ZAMAGNI TO ADOPT THE FOLLOWING AMENDMENTS

     TO THE PARKING ORDINANCE THAT WAS ADOPTED AT THE DISTRICT AUTHORITY

     MEETING HELD ON 04/08/2013

     SECTION 3-ITEM #4:  NEW PARKING LINES WILL BE MARKED ON SOUTH MAIN STREET

     FROM FRONT STREET TO END OF MUNICIPAL PARKING LOT    

     SECTION 3-ITEM #5:  NO PARKING ON THE NORTH SIDE OF FRONT STREET (RT 44) FROM

     SOUTH MAIN STREET TO MAIN STREET

     UNANIMOUS VOTE TO ADOPT PARKING ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS
